Wheeeee (none / 0)

SAN DIEGO -- Former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham is terrified of going to prison, according to recently released court documents.

Cunningham admitted to prosecutors that he took bribes from defense contractors and made a plea agreement. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

NBC 7/39 obtained letters on Tuesday that were sent to the judge in advance of Cunningham's sentencing.

In one of the letters, which was penned by Cunningham, he tells the judge that it has been hard to endure public ridicule.

"I know that I must be punished, and I will accept your sentence without complaint," wrote Cunningham.

A psychiatrist who evaluated the corrupt congressman wrote in another letter that Cunningham is "extremely anxious and is terrified of incarceration." The letter goes on to say that Cunningham suffers from severe depression and has had suicidal thoughts.

What a Grand Old Party (none / 0)

Ohio News Network:

He was dubbed Columbus' "naked photographer."  Now an Ohio Supreme Court panel recommends that Stephen Linnen have his law license suspended indefinitely.

He pleaded guilty to ambushing women while he was nude and took pictures of their shocked expressions. [...]

"A lawyer who endangers the public whose safety he took an oath to uphold, must accept responsibility for his actions," the panel wrote.

The panel says Linnen, 35, shouldn't be allowed to practice law for at least two years.  However, the final decision is up to the Supreme Court.

Linnen worked as a lawyer for the Ohio House Republican caucus when he was arrested. [...]

Linnen pled guilty in 2004 to 53 indecency and misdemeanor sex counts, after flashing and taking pictures of the shocked women.  He served a year in jail.

Authorities said he took pictures of 38 women over 18 months before his identity was discovered in late 2003.

Hopefully, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I hope many, many more Republicans will be joining the "Dukester" in jail real soon.
